MLM Fatigue - LIF

It has been almost 3 years since I left the MLM industry. As I still keep in touch with my ex-networkers and quite often I get invited to check out the latest MLM company that has arrived in town. The ones that I have been invited to include some singapore MLM companies which include, Meridien, based in Park Mall. And quite a handful of others located some in Peninsular Plaza and some in Eunos area, I can't recall their names as they did not leave any deep impression on me.
It's always the usual pitch of how great the products are, how different the compensations will be and how these new companies are going to expand into new markets and that they are looking for leaders to pave the way etc.
Just last night I was invited to a HOng Kong Based Company called LFI, aka Long Fa International. It was located at Sims Drive, just minutes away from the Aljunied MRT. There were many young people at this office. Having been away from any presentation scenes for quite a while, I was quite surprised by the turnout. In fact, the person whom they claimed to be one of the top earners in this new set up happens to be someone I have met in a church camp just late last year. The last I know, he was in some pretty bad financial shape owing banks to the tune of hundreds of thousands as a result of business relations gone sour.
Anyway this company is the same one that you see advertising on TV some years back when this very popular HK serial was shown here, it's called Zhen Qin, pardon my spelling.

I managed to capture some shots of the office area. The set up is quite impressive with their products already selling in major stores like Watsons and Guardian locally. The pitch is for you to look at LFI as a manufacturing based company as supposed to many of the trading based MLM company which they claim do not last long etc. etc.
The person who presented to me was Michael, an ex-aircon technician for the last 26 years. Never been in sales and yet was able to command a 5 figure salary in less than 3 months that he was there in LFI.
You are basically encourage to purcahse a package of products worth approximately SG$2,145 which include a $25 membership fee, about 6 big bottles of Detox supplements. Product training is encouraged if you are interested in doing this business.
Also, they are working towards a Singapore listing in 3 years time, and the current market where MLM distribution is conducted are just Malaysia and Singapore.
As much as I talked about many of the considerations you need to look into before embarking on MLM, emotionally it was hard to ignore what they had to offer, especially when you personally know someone who was once in the red and now doing extremely well.

For a technician with totally no sales background, Michael was not only very professional but he was also very well groomed, dressed well, looking confident more than make up for his communication ability.
Though a health company, I see almost everyone walking around outside the office with a cigarette in hand puffing away. Guess if there is money to be made, health can take a second place for now.
